Step 1: Attend an Orientation - The first step to getting involved with West Hollywood Public Access is to attend one of our regularly scheduled Orientations where you will learn more about WHPA program and services. Orientation is required for all new members. Check our calendar for upcoming Orientation dates.

To register or for more information call 323-848-6522 or  email icon  Facebook logo

Step 2: Sign Up
- After you have attended an Orientation you will have the opportunity to sign up for the program.  You will need to show proof of residence in the city of West Hollywood to join. (West Hollywood Street Addresses). We accept Utilities bills, License, or ID’s with a current West Hollywood address for proof of residence.  You will also need to pay an annual due as indicated below. (We only accept cash, checks or money orders. Checks and money orders should be made out to “The City of West Hollywood”)

Producer memberships – Individual producer members pay a $25 annual due. Producers may initiate production, use production equipment, are eligible for workshops and may submit programming to be aired on the public access channel.

Company Memberships - An affiliated group of a Producer and 1 or more Associates is called a Company. Companies of four (4) or more are eligible for custom training. Companies pay an annual due of $50. Please fill out and return a Program Proposal if you would like to register with the program as a Company.

Associates: A West Hollywood resident who registers as a Producer can also register friends with the program as Associates, who need not live in West Hollywood. Associates do not pay membership dues, may take workshops and work on the productions of a registered producer. However, Associates may not initiate programming agreements or submit programming to air on the channel.

Sponsor Memberships - Sponsors submit programming they have created independently to be shown on the public access channel. Sponsors may be eligible for special workshops, but may not initiate production or use production equipment. Sponsors must be residents of the City of West Hollywood. There are no dues for Sponsor Memberships at this time.

Step 3: Create programing to air on the public access channel: Use of Facilities & Equipment – Producer and Company members that wish to utilize facilities and equipment to produce programming are required to attend a series of workshops. Once you have attended an Orientation, filled out all necessary membership forms and paid your annual dues, you may sign up for workshops. There are no fees for workshops. Most workshops have a 4 person maximum and are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. You can find our workshop scheduled in our quarterly calendar.

Step 4: Reserving Facilities & Equipment – Once all of the above requirements are fulfilled, members may reserve equipment and Facilities at WHPA to complete programs which are primarily for air on our channel. Producers are allotted a designated amount of free Use of equipment and Facilities per show and pay scheduled fees if free time is exceeded.  Fee Schedule

Step 5: Submitting Programming for Air on the Channel– Once members have gone through all previous steps to create programming they may request to have it aired on the West Hollywood Public Access channel. You can find information about submitting programming at Submitting and airing programming. Note: Although most eligible members use our facilities and equipment to create programming, members that produce programming independently may begin submitting programming to air on the channel after steps 1 & 2 have been satisfied.
