It is the goal of the City of West Hollywood to comply with public law regarding disclosure of public records and/or information.
Subject to legal constraints, the City of West Hollywood shall disclose upon request, information pertaining to the day-to-day service activity of the City.
Information to be released:
A public record is any document regarding the day-to-day service activity of the City. Information shall be released in compliance with the California Public Records Act and other applicable laws and legal decisions.
Access to Public Information:
The California Public Records Act was created to guarantee the access of information concerning the conduct of the people's business, a fundamental right of every person in this State. The public has the right to inspect and/or obtain a copy of a public record. Public records are open for inspection at all times during the regular business hours of City Hall.
Obvious records requests are ordinarily available for inspection on demand or within a short period of time, unless documents are archived and/or stored in another department.
The law allows ten (10) days to respond to a "Request for Public Records", unless there are unusual circumstances surrounding the production of a request, which may extend it an additional fourteen (14) days.
Our organization strives for excellent customer services, and responds to requests as quickly as possible.
