On Tuesday, March 8, 2011, the City of West Hollywood will hold its General Municipal Election. This will allow the Citizens of West Hollywood to elect three (3) members to the City Council. The elected Councilmembers will serve a four-year term. The polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.

The nomination period for City Council candidates begins on November 15, 2010 and ends on December 10, 2010. If you are interested in running for City Council please contact the City Clerk’s Office (323-848-6409) in early November to schedule an appointment to receive your nomination papers and review all required deadlines for becoming an official candidate on the March 8, 2011 Ballot.

If you plan to raise or spend any money during your campaign, please review the City’s Election and Campaign Information in the West Hollywood Municipal Code.

In addition, prior to raising or spending any funds for your campaign you must file a Candidate Intention Statement (Form 501) with the West Hollywood City Clerk’s Office. Within 10 days of receiving $1000 or more in campaign contributions, you must file a Statement of Organization (Form 410). This form must be filed with the Secretary of State, and a copy must be filed with the West Hollywood City Clerk’s Office.
