Rent Stabilization Commission

The Rent Stabilization Commission was created on June 21, 1985 and consists of five (5) members who are all residents of the City. Each Councilmember appoints one (1) member to the Commission for a two-year term commencing on June 1st following a general municipal election. Members shall not be officers or employees of the City.

The Rent Stabilization Commission shall be responsible for promulgating policies, rules, forms or regulations found necessary to effectuate, implement and enforce the provisions of the Rent Control Ordinance. The Commission shall hear all appeals of decisions by a hearing examiner. The Commission shall submit an annual written report to the City Council describing its activities taken pursuant to the Ordinance.

Meetings of the Rent Stabilization Commission are held on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at West Hollywood Park Auditorium, 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
