The Disabilities Advisory Board was created May 1, 1995 and is comprised of seven (7) members appointed by the Council as a whole (at-large). Each member of the Board shall serve a two-year term commencing June 1st following a general municipal election. Members of advisory boards shall either: (1) be a resident of West Hollywood; (2) be an owner of a legitimate business entity in the City; or (3) work in the City of West Hollywood or for a business or agency that serves West Hollywood. If a member of the Board is absent for any reason for three or more regular meetings in any twelve-month period, the office of such member shall be vacated.
The Disabilities Advisory Board addresses issues affecting people with disabilities, including ADA compliance, transportation, housing, access to City government and services for people with disabilities, and makes recommendations to Council relative to the adoption of programs, policies or ordinances of benefit to the constituency.
