Ecos de España: Spanish Classical & Flamenco Music & Dance is a family friendly performance that has it all; a variety of flamenco dance palos (rhythms), Paso Doble (dance of the bullfight), an original classical dance choreography to I. Albeniz’s “Asturias,” a sampling of the timeless compositions created for the Spanish classical guitar, and flamenco guitar at its best.
During the course of the show we invoke the spirit and poetry of the great Spanish poet, musician and flamenco aficionado, Federico Garcia Lorca. Audience participation is included, especially for children. At show’s end children are invited onstage to join us in a fun, simple flamenco dance performed with scarves. But don’t leave just yet! Afterwards we offer an introductory Spanish castanet class for those interested, and children are welcome to try out the various dance props—fans, shawls, a Cordobes hat and bullfight cape.
