The City of West Hollywood is co-sponsoring A Triple Header Day of Women’s Empowerment Movies on the big screen presented by Girls Just Wanna Have Funds, LLC. celebrating the power of women’s stories, voices, and impact. These stories span business, politics, and pop culture—reminding us that real change is made when women’s voices are amplified. This event is also sponsored by the Sunset Marquis and is a kick-off event for LA Tech Week.
About The Films:
- 10am - Show Her The Money – Shining a light on the fact that women receive less than 2% of venture capital funding, this award-winning documentary demystifies the VC world and showcases visionary female founders. Special in-person appearance by Executive Producer & Cast Member, Emmy Award-winning actress Sharon Gless(Cagney & Lacey, Queer as Folk) who will also be honored with an award.
- 1pm - Lilly – The inspiring true story of Lilly Ledbetter, whose fight for equal pay led to the historic Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, signed into law by President Obama. Featuring Academy Award-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson. Followed by a panel discussion and awards ceremony.
- 3pm - Still Working 9 to 5 – A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the beloved classic 9 to 5 and the ongoing fight for workplace equality, featuring icons Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Dolly Parton. Followed by a panel discussion and awards ceremony.
