The City of West Hollywood presents "Writing About Your Creative Work" - a free professional development workshop for any interested artist at any level.
Clear writing helps artists open doors. The first of five WeHo Artists Roundtable Workshops, this session guides artists in articulating creative practice with confidence and precision across bios, artist statements, grant narratives, project descriptions, and more. Participants will explore how language shapes perception, opportunity, and alignment with funders, presenters, and collaborators. Opening with a seminar-style presentation, this workshop then moves into interactive work with guided prompts, real-time writing, and peer exchange. The session will focus on building clear, specific language rather than abstraction or jargon, offering tools that translate across applications, websites, and public materials. Artists will leave with an updated draft of one written piece, such as a project description or bio, along with greater clarity around how words reflect creative work and long-term direction.
You do not need to be a resident of the City of West Hollywood to attend and participate in the WeHo Artists Roundtables.
