Women's Voices Now presents 2026 Leslie J. Sacks Grand Prize Screening

Join us for a special screening of The Forbidden Call: Women Priests, the Leslie J. Sacks Grand Prize Winner of the 2026 Women's Voices Now Film Festival. Filmed over 19 years by acclaimed director Marie Mandy, this feature documentary explores the Roman Catholic Church's ban on female ordination. The film follows three resilient women—a Swiss theologian, a French-Spanish rebel, and an African-American priest—who actively defy Vatican mandates to exercise their spiritual vocations, demanding open dialogue and gender equality within the Church.

Doors open at 6:30 PM. Following the film, director Marie Mandy will join the audience for an insightful Q&A session to discuss her work documenting women pushing for institutional reform. The evening will conclude with a dessert reception, offering guests a chance to connect and reflect. All proceeds from the event directly benefit the programs and services of Women's Voices Now.
