As one of the groundbreaking openly gay and gender-nonconforming artists to achieve mainstream success, his influence continues to inspire generations of performers and fans around the world. Sylvester gave everything he had—his voice, spirit, courage, artistry, truth, and love. More than a performer, he was a trailblazer who helped redefine music, fashion, freedom, and self-expression. His courage created space for countless people to live and perform authentically, helping pave the way for artists such as RuPaul, Billy Porter, Lil Nas X, and Adam Lambert. Help honor Sylvester’s extraordinary legacy with love today.
