CicLAvia—Meet the Hollywoods Presented by Metro will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024. The City of West Hollywood, and the neighborhoods of Hollywood and East Hollywood in the City of Los Angeles will be transformed into car-free open streets for the day.

CicLAvia catalyzes vibrant public spaces, active transportation, and good health through car-free streets. CicLAvia engages with people to transform our relationship with our communities and with each other.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from the City of West Hollywood’s inclusive pride crosswalks to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, everyone is invited to come along for the ride, walk, bike, roll, and stroll through the area’s most iconic streets. Thousands of cyclists and people will fill the streets.

CicLAvia will close Santa Monica Boulevard to vehicle traffic between N. San Vicente Boulevard and N. La Brea Avenue from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. To assist with the flow of local and regional traffic, there will be limited vehicle-crossing points located at N. San Vicente Boulevard, N. La Cienega Boulevard, N. Crescent Heights Boulevard, N. Fairfax Avenue, and N. La Brea Avenue.

During CicLAvia, there will be two activity hubs located along West Hollywood’s portion of the route: one at N. San Vicente Boulevard and one at Plummer Park. These hubs will include first aid stations, merchandise sales, portable restrooms, bicycle parking, and bicycle repair. There will be nonprofit organization booths and City information booths and the Plummer Park hub will feature Drag Story Hour with City of West Hollywood Drag Laureate, Pickle.

At the conclusion of CicLAvia at 4 p.m., the City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division will present a Summer Sounds free outdoor concert at Plummer Park, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. It will feature The Neighborhood Orchestra (NOC) and DJ Aaron Paar. NOC is a Los Angeles-based musical ensemble known for their genre-blending, electrifying performances. Formed in 2020, NOC has quickly risen to prominence in the LA music scene, gaining recognition for their remarkable live shows and collaborations with industry icons. Their debut single, A Girl Like You, featuring LA rapper Murs garnered significant attention, amassing thousands of Spotify followers and streams. NOC’s deep roots in the local community and global appeal make them a cultural force. This concert will also feature DJ Aaron Paar. Born in Nottingham, England, Aaron Paar has been an active figure in the Los Angeles DJ, underground club, and recording scene since the early ’90s. With a family music background, Paar continues to stay at the forefront of cutting-edge music cultures across many styles. This concert is presented in partnership with Grand Performances and supported by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.

The Summer Sounds outdoor concert is free to attend; RSVPs are not required. Reserved seating is not available. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and blankets. Food will also be available for purchase. Due to street closures and limited parking, the City strongly recommends that concert-goers walk, bicycle, or use public transportation or ride share services.

Due to street closures, The PickUp, the City of West Hollywood’s free weekend ride, will run on a modified schedule: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus lines that run along Santa Monica Boulevard and connect to the City of West Hollywood may be impacted by street closures.
