Post Date:March 06, 2025 2:13 PM

Civic Leadership Academy 2025The City of West Hollywood invites community members to apply for the Spring cohort of the Civic Leadership Academy, which will begin on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 and will run through Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Responding to a strong community desire for more insight into the City of West Hollywood’s day-to-day operations and civic processes, this unique multi-session program launched in Spring 2024. It provides each cohort of approximately 25 community members with an in-depth understanding about how West Hollywood’s local government operates and delivers services. The Civic Leadership Academy empowers participants to advance community priorities and shape the future of local governance.

In Spring 2025, the City will host its next Civic Leadership Academy cohort, enrolling community members in a curriculum of weekly in-person learning sessions. All sessions will take place in the City of West Hollywood and refreshments will be provided at each session. The City is currently accepting applications to join the Spring Civic Leadership Academy. Interested community members are urged to visit www.engage.weho.org/leadershipacademy for more information and to apply today. Enrollment is limited and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Civic Leadership Academy is designed to offer an in-depth exploration of the who, what, and why behind City policies and operations, providing vital context to community stakeholders. Each week, attendees will interact with City leaders, staff, community service organizations, and City partners. Participants will work closely with like-minded peers in the Academy cohort. Sessions will feature workshops, roundtables, lectures, tours, networking opportunities, and more. Each session will include a Q&A period. The program is built upon a foundation of open discussions and knowledge-sharing to empower an informed, involved, and engaged community.

Civic Leadership Academy participants may be residents, employees, appointed officials, City staff, or other community members. Attendees who participate in at least eight sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion, acknowledging their dedication to civic involvement in West Hollywood.
