The City of West Hollywood will begin the construction of a new dog park at Plummer Park, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Project construction plans were approved in 2024 and construction will commence on Monday, September 15, 2025. The estimated completion date for the project is the first quarter of the 2026 calendar year. This project will not impact the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market.
City staff will post construction activity notices in advance at the affected location, which is situated to the west of the tennis/pickleball courts and east of N. Vista Street. Park patrons are advised to plan accordingly. The City recognizes that this work may cause temporary inconveniences and sincerely thanks park patrons and the local community for their patience and understanding.
The City is happy to share the following details about the new dog park at Plummer Park, which is being created with our community’s four-legged friends in mind:
- The dog park will offer an off-leash dog play area divided into two separate play areas for small dogs and large dogs.
- The dog park will be enclosed by a fence, and the small and large dog play areas will be separated by a durable fence system. The fence will feature panels consisting of playful, artistic, laser cut designs at key locations such as entries.
- Shade sails will be installed.
- The dog park will feature low up-lighting along the perimeter fence for nighttime visibility and highlighting of the feature fence panels.
- There will be double gate entries at the west and south entry/exit areas to provide protected areas for off-leashing.
- A new, fully accessible sloped walkway to the existing tennis courts entrance along N. Vista Street will replace the current ramp.
- Non-toxic and drought-resistant landscaping will be installed along the perimeter of the area.
- One new tree along the perimeter at the site’s northwestern corner will be planted to provide shade in that area.
- A dual-use water fountain will be available within each off-leash area featuring an accessible fountain on top for people and a fountain at the base for dogs.
- Pet waste stations and waste receptacles will be available within each off-leash area.
- Seating will be located in shaded and non-shaded areas.
