The City of West Hollywood joins Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath, Third District, the All on Board Coalition, and the West Hollywood Advocates for Metro Rail (WHAM) to invite community members, advocates, and stakeholders to a community rally and news conference in support of the San Vicente-Fairfax Route for Metro’s K Line Northern Extension light rail project. The rally will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 8 a.m. at West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
After years of outreach and technical work, the Metro Board of Directors is approaching a key decision on the final route/locally preferred alternative for the project. Depending on the route selected, West Hollywood could be served by a single station at the eastern edge of the City, or three stations in the City with a fourth just outside the City limits at N. La Cienega Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard. Only the proposed San Vicente-Fairfax route will serve all the major destinations and job centers in Mid City Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and Hollywood while moving more riders to more places and unlocking local funding.
“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to connect West Hollywood with the rest of the region. The K Line North will allow you to catch a flight at LAX, watch a game at a regional stadium, shop at the Grove, or celebrate in the Rainbow District in West Hollywood. The route will provide an easy commute for those who work in the Miracle Mile or at Cedars-Sinai Hospital,” said City of West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman. “The San Vicente-Fairfax route will put more than 110,000 jobs within a half-mile of new Metro stations with connections to four other rail lines and 6 of the 10 busiest Metro bus lines. With more riders, more jobs, and more destinations, the choice is simple: San Vicente-Fairfax is the best route. Let's finish the line!”
The community rally will include coffee, pastries, and giveaways while supplies last. Participants can pick up t-shirts, pins, and signs to show their support for the City of West Hollywood’s preferred San Vicente-Fairfax route. Members of the public are encouraged to join elected officials, community leaders, neighbors, and mobility advocates to rally in support of this transformational project and to advocate for the San Vicente-Fairfax route. The final route decision is expected to go to the Metro Board of Directors in the coming weeks.
West Hollywood Park is served by Metro’s 4, 10, 16, and 105 bus routes; the City of West Hollywood’s free Cityline Local shuttles within the City and Cityline Commuter shuttles from the Hollywood/Highland Metro B Line station; and limited validated parking will be available at the West Hollywood Park five-story structure. Attendees can use the promo code “METROWEHO” to get $10 off a Lime shared scooter or e-bike ride to the event.
