Upcoming City Project Construction Notice

Post Date:June 11, 2026

In July, the City’s construction contractor, Elecnor Belco, will commence construction of the City’s project to replace the pedestrian lights located in the sidewalks of La Brea Ave (from end to end).  The project is anticipated to be complete by early September.

The construction will involve a limited amount of new utility pipe installations and a few foundations for added light locations, all within sidewalk zone. Most of the corridor will involve simply reusing existing utility pipes and existing lights/foundations. Typical day time working hours during normal business days will be utilized.

Trash service will continue as regularly scheduled. Water/sewer service will be uninterrupted. The regular roadway street lighting will be uninterrupted, as that system is not part of this project.

While the contractor is working, temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted as necessary, and traffic control will be in place as needed.  Any closures will only be during the working time and will be removed and lifted at the end of each day’s work.  The contractor will limit the work zone that will be closed each day, and work only in small phases of areas.

The City has hired Berg & Associates to provide construction inspection and management on thisproject. The contractor and the inspector will be working closely with the public for any coordination needed.
