The City of West Hollywood is launching its Electric Bicycle (E-Bike) Incentive Program, which will award up to 50 vouchers to individual West Hollywood residents for e-bike purchases. The program is designed to encourage residents to replace driving trips with bicycle trips, supporting the City’s climate action goals.

City E-Bike Incentive Program vouchers may be redeemed for a curated selection of e-bikes at local West Hollywood retailer Bike Shop LA. Each voucher covers the full cost of an eligible bicycle, as well as bicycle maintenance for the duration of the participant’s involvement in the program. Available models include commuter, cruiser, cargo, and small-space-compact folding e-bikes.

The City has opened an application portal with program details at go.weho.org/ebike. Hard-copy applications are also available at West Hollywood City Hall at the Department of Public Works counter on the second floor. West Hollywood residents who are 18 years or older are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted through Monday, August 31, 2026. Fifty (50) individual recipients will be selected through a random lottery, anticipated to be held in early September 2026, with priority for residents from low- to moderate-income households.

Selected participants will be required to complete a bicycle safety course offered by BikeLA before receiving their voucher. Participants must also agree to submit quarterly reports documenting bicycle miles traveled. Full participation in these requirements is necessary for program participants to keep bicycles for the long term.

By replacing some or all car trips with bike trips, the program aims at supporting multi-modal transportation to reduce vehicle miles traveled citywide while supporting the City’s Core Value of Responsibility for the Environment. There are many ways to explore West Hollywood without a car, and the City of West Hollywood is committed to supporting multi-modal transportation options and promoting West Hollywood as a walkable and bikeable place.
