The City of West Hollywood and LA County Library will present the 2026 Next Chapter Writers’ Summit & Book Fair on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at West Hollywood Library, the West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center, and West Hollywood Park, located in and around 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. This free daylong event will celebrate books, storytelling, creative expression, and community connection.

Designed for devoted readers, aspiring writers, and literary industry professionals alike, the Next Chapter Writers’ Summit & Book Fair will bring together voices from across Los Angeles County and beyond for a full day of West Hollywood-based literary programming and opportunities to connect with authors and publishing professionals.

The City of West Hollywood has long recognized the power of books and reading to spark new ideas and help us better understand one another,” said City of West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman. “We’re thrilled to partner with LA County Library to welcome the writers’ summit and book fair to West Hollywood in November. This celebration of writers, readers, and storytelling reflects our City’s commitment to creative expression and to ensuring that diverse voices and stories have a place to be heard.”

The theme of the 2026 summit is “Celebrating the Art of the Story,” recognizing the enduring power of storytelling to connect people, preserve culture, inspire imagination, and create meaningful change. The event will highlight storytelling in its many forms while uplifting the freedom to read, championing creative expression, and amplifying stories and perspectives from underrepresented communities.

Programming for the 2026 Next Chapter Writers’ Summit & Book Fair is set to include:

• Headliner author talks, book signings, and a celebration;
• Thought-provoking panel discussions featuring bestselling authors and established literary professionals;
• Opportunities to sign up for consultations with literary agents and editors;
• A book fair featuring local partners, vendors, booksellers, book clubs, and resources; and
• Engaging activities and entertainment.

The summit will also recognize winners of LA County Library’s 2026 Next Chapter Writers’ Summit Flash Fiction Contest. Teen and adult writers ages 13 and older were invited to submit original flash-fiction stories of up to 750 words. Three winning entries will be featured on LA County Library’s BiblioBoard for one year, and winners will be recognized on stage.
