On October 25, 2013, the City of West Hollywood will host the La Brea Streetscape Project Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the West Hollywood Gateway Center, located at 7100 Santa Monica Boulevard. The event is open to the public and will begin at 10:00 a.m.
The concept of the La Brea Streetscape Project was to bring the existing improvements that are installed on Santa Monica Boulevard and wrap them onto La Brea Avenue. These improvements include 3 new median islands, added green space to the area, used drought tolerant plants in the medians and parkways, stormwater infiltration parkways, 40 new trees, and 20 new pedestrian level lights. This project was partially funded by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
