West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station Welcomes New Captain
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has appointed law enforcement veteran Holly M. Perez as the new Captain of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, effective Sunday, February 14, 2016.
Captain Perez brings more than 28 years of law enforcement experience to West Hollywood. Her previous positions have included Operations Lieutenant, Service Area Lieutenant, and Recruit Training Staff Sergeant, and she is an International Defensive Tactics instructor. Her assignments have included transit services, custody, and, until recently, the parks bureau.
Captain Perez spent two years specializing in surveillance and covert investigations, studied counter-terrorism at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and is a graduate of USC’s Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE).
Captain Perez has experience with large-scale special events and is a member of the Sheriff’s Department’s Incident Management Team. She has assisted several communities with their Rape Awareness, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Anti-Gang programs and is also a Cultural Diversity Instructor for the Sheriff’s Department.
The appointment of Captain Perez was made after an extensive search, and in consultation and collaboration with City of West Hollywood Officials. Captain Perez has already spent considerable time meeting with City of West Hollywood Councilmembers and City Officials getting to know West Hollywood and the issues specific to the community.
