Post Date:February 17, 2017 8:01 AM

liaynThe City of West Hollywood has, through its Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board, will host a special screening of the internationally acclaimed film Love is All You Need?, followed by a panel discussion featuring the film’s award-winning director, K. Rocco Shields, writer/producer David Tillman, and cast members Briana Evigan, Blake Cooper Griffin, and Katherine LaNasa. The panel will be moderated by City of West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister.

The film screening and panel discussion will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the City of West Hollywood’s City Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room at West Hollywood Library, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. The event is free to attend, but reservations are required.

Love is All You Need? Is based on a 19-minute short film of the same name, which went viral in 2013, garnering more than 50 million views. The film has won numerous festival awards across the world and tackles issues of prejudice and human rights. Set in a world where homosexuality is considered normal and heterosexuality is taboo, the film explores discrimination from the “if gay were straight and straight were gay” perspective, and is designed as a tool to help the LGBT community educate people about what it’s like to be marginalized simply because of whom you love.
