City Tallies Unofficial West Hollywood City Council Results in Municipal Election

VoteSquareThe City of West Hollywood’s Municipal Election was held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. This year’s election was consolidated — polling, voting, and counting operations are being conducted by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, rather than by the City of West Hollywood.

The unofficial tally indicates that John Heilman and John J. Duran have secured the top number of votes. Unofficial election results, updated at approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 indicate that John Heilman has 2,252 votes and John J. Duran has 1,929 votes.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office must still count provisional ballots and additional vote-by-mail ballots. Final election results are scheduled to be certified by the County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 and are anticipated to be declared official by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

Following certification of the final vote tally, the two newly elected Councilmembers will be sworn-in at a meeting of the West Hollywood City Council on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the City of West Hollywood’s Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
