Post Date:October 30, 2018 4:03 PM

citylineshortlineThe City of West Hollywood’s free Cityline service has expanded in order to make it easier to connect City destinations with Metro Red Line service on Saturdays, offering two routes for evening and night options.

Cityline “Commuter” service, which runs on weekdays during morning and evening commute hours is now available on Saturday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and runs the full length of Santa Monica Boulevard with regular stops between Robertson Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, as well as Hollywood & Highland for Metro Red Line service.

Cityline “Shortline” service offers a new night route and is now available on Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. With arrivals every 10 to 12 minutes, Shortline service operates between Hollywood & Highland for Metro Red Line service, and the corner of Santa Monica and Crescent Heights Boulevards.

The two Saturday services will help residents in West Hollywood effortlessly access Hollywood and the Metro Red Line in order to reach destinations such as Downtown Los Angeles; visitors will more easily be able to get into West Hollywood in order to enjoy the City’s myriad of shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs — all without using a car.

Cityline Commuter and Shortline maps are available online by visiting and clicking on the Commuter or Shortline tab. A PDF is available by clicking

Riders who use Cityline Shortline to come into West Hollywood can choose to walk to their West Hollywood destination from Crescent Heights and Santa Monica or transfer to one of the City’s free trolley services: The Pickup, which runs on Santa Monica Boulevard, or The Sunset Trip which runs along the Sunset Strip and connects to Melrose and Santa Monica Boulevard at specific stops.

The City of West Hollywood’s free Cityline service recently debuted its brand-new fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles, a sharp new logo, and a beautiful new look featuring the works of incredible visual artists. The City of West Hollywood regularly runs Cityline “Local” and Cityline “Commuter” service Monday through Saturday and, now, Cityline “Commuter” and Cityline “Shortline” service on Saturday evenings and nights.

The new Cityline vehicles are comprised of an environmentally friendly NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) fleet that uses compressed natural gas (CNG) as opposed to gasoline or diesel fuel. The new vehicles also feature bicycle racks for  even easier car-free travel.
