City Invites Eastside Residents to an Event for its Ring Video Doorbell Rebate Program

Post Date:January 14, 2019 3:40 PM

ringThe City of West Hollywood has announced its partnership with Ring to provide discounts for West Hollywood residents who wish to purchase select home security devices. Funded by the City of West Hollywood and Ring, the program will enable 200 eligible households to receive a $100 promotional code rebate towards select Ring products. The program is organized by the City’s WeHo Smart City Initiative with the goal of creating a citywide network of greater safety and security for residents.

The Ring Video Doorbell Rebate Program will kick off with a launch event on January 24, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Plummer Park’s Fiesta Hall, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Admission is free and the program is limited to the first 200 households. The rebate program is open to West Hollywood residents who live within an Eastside Neighborhood Watch area and attend the kick-off event in person. Residents can verify eligibility and learn more at

The rebate program will incentivize the purchase of Ring Video Doorbells and Ring security devices that connect to a user’s mobile device via the free Ring app (iOS/Android). Residents are then notified when the device’s motion sensor is activated or if someone rings their doorbell; they can also choose to view the camera’s live video feed at any time. Optional video subscription services are available for purchase to residents who want to save their Ring recordings to view or share them at a later time.

Eligible residents in attendance must provide proof of residency with a valid form of government-issued identification and a copy of a utility bill in order to receive promotional discount information. Ring will extend this offer to West Hollywood residents who show up to the event who are not in an Eastside Neighborhood Watch area; however, this offer will not be extended to residents beyond the Eastside area until the kick-off event has concluded.

Rebates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the promotion does not sell out during the kick-off event, the City will post an application to its website allowing additional residents to participate until the program funding limit has been reached. Discounts will be provided by Ring to confirmed West Hollywood residents and applied during checkout towards the in-person purchase of devices at the event.

West Hollywood residents will have the opportunity to purchase the following devices with a $100 discount off the retail price:

  • Video Doorbell 2
  • Video Doorbell Pro
  • Spotlight Cam Solar
  • Spotlight Cam Battery
  • Spotlight Cam Wired
  • Floodlight Cam
  • Ring Alarm Security Kit (5-Piece)

Ring is also offering $30 off additional security devices with a maximum of two (2) per household, and 20-percent off accessories. Visit Ring’s website for product descriptions and specifications. Ring will only accept credit card purchases — no cash or checks. Promotional codes are limited to one per household and cannot be re-used or applied towards previously purchased Ring products.

The Ring Video Doorbell Rebate Program is a pilot program of the City’s WeHo Smart City initiative, which sets forth a multi-phased roadmap to efficiently incorporate smart technologies, digital tools, and data analytics into City services for greater efficiency and enhanced customer service.
