City Expands Ring Video Doorbell Rebate Program to Include Eligible Residents Citywide
The City of West Hollywood has announced its partnership with Ring to provide discounts for West Hollywood residents who wish to purchase select home security devices.
Launched in early 2019 for households in the City of West Hollywood’s Eastside Neighborhood Watch areas, the City of West Hollywood’s City Council approved a plan to expand the program to eligible residents citywide.
Funded by the City of West Hollywood and Ring, the expanded citywide program will enable a total of 200 eligible households to receive a $100 promotional code rebate towards select Ring products. The program is organized by the City’s WeHo Smart City Initiative with the goal of creating a citywide network of greater safety and security for residents. Residents can verify eligibility and learn more at www.weho.org/smartcitycam.
The rebate program will incentivize the purchase of Ring Video Doorbells and Ring security devices that connect to a user’s mobile device via the free Ring app (iOS/Android). Residents are then notified when the device’s motion sensor is activated or if someone rings their doorbell; they can also choose to view the camera’s live video feed at any time. Optional video subscription services are available for purchase to residents who want to save their Ring recordings to view or share them at a later time.
Eligibility requirements are: must be a West Hollywood resident; authorization of property owner; subscription to a Ring video recording plan; and, one rebate per address. Rebates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
West Hollywood residents will have the opportunity to purchase the following devices with a $100 discount off the retail price:
- Video Doorbell 2
- Video Doorbell Pro
- Spotlight Cam Solar
- Spotlight Cam Battery
- Spotlight Cam Wired
- Floodlight Cam
- Ring Alarm Security Kit (5-Piece)
Ring is also offering $30 off additional security devices with a maximum of two (2) per household, and 20-percent off accessories. Visit Ring’s website for product descriptions and specifications. Promotional codes are limited to one per household and cannot be re-used or applied towards previously purchased Ring products.
The Ring Video Doorbell Rebate Program is a pilot program of the City’s WeHo Smart City initiative, which sets forth a multi-phased roadmap to efficiently incorporate smart technologies, digital tools, and data analytics into City services for greater efficiency and enhanced customer service.
