City and West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to Host ‘State of The City 2019’
The City of West Hollywood and the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (WHCC) annually partner on a “State of The City” event to engage the City’s business leaders and the community at-large in a conversation about new initiatives, economic trends, and innovations in West Hollywood.
This year’s State of The City event, presented by Essence WeHo, will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 6 p.m. at 1 Hotel West Hollywood, located at 8490 W. Sunset Boulevard. State of The City 2019 will examine the theme “City of the Future.” More than 300 local business leaders will gather for the occasion. West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico will provide welcoming remarks and City Manager Paul Arevalo will present the State of The City keynote address. Ashley Z. Hand of Cityfi will be the event’s featured speaker and she will discuss how cities are using Smart City plans to shape and build cities of the future.
The WeHo Smart City Initiative is part of the City’s effort to embrace the rapid pace of innovation by seamlessly embedding technology into systems that enhance operations, making efficient use of community resources, interactive signage for community engagement, and creating and protecting a connected, egalitarian citizen experience. Mayor D’Amico, a featured speaker of the evening, said, “Meaningful integration of technology into our lives must not subvert the gemlike qualities and treasures of daily life in West Hollywood, our regular creativity, our curiosity and our questioning to achieve speed and efficiency.”
