City Invites Community Members to a Street Design Project Workshop Aimed at Creating Safer and More Walkable Streets
The City of West Hollywood invites community members to take part in a Street Design Project Walk & Bike Workshop event that will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Plummer Park, Rooms 1 and 2, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard.
The Street Design Project will focus on Willoughby Avenue, Kings Road, and Vista Street/Gardner Street and aims to enhance the streets into a more comfortable, safe, and inviting experience for pedestrians and bicyclists of all ages and abilities. Attendance at this goal-setting workshop is free and no registration is required; just come out, provide input, and have some fun with other community members and City staff.
Workshop participants are advised to bring their walking shoes or bicycles. The event will include a brief orientation followed by walk-and-bike interactive in-the-field assessments regarding positive and negative aspects of the streets. The workshop will conclude with an end-of-event raffle. Feedback collected at this workshop will help set the goals for the rest of the project and shape the future of these streets. For more information about the Street Design Project, please contact Tara Worden, City of West Hollywood Assistant Planner, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (323) 848-6834.
