City Launches Quarterly City Hall ‘Pop-Up’ Community Meetups with City Staff

Post Date:January 22, 2020 4:30 PM

#CityHall2UIn an effort to increase engagement and accessibility, the City of West Hollywood is launching a quarterly series of City Hall pop-ups at various times and locations throughout the City to educate and inform community members about programming, events, and City services. The inaugural “City Hall to You” will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Hollywood Park, near the dog parks, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.

The City of West Hollywood understands that, often, community members have busy schedules that make it inconvenient to attend public meetings, such as City Council meetings, or participate in the activities of Boards and Commissions. City Hall to You is an effort to make a cross-section of City staff members available at convenient times in local neighborhoods from an array of Departments and Divisions such as Arts, Public Works, Recreation Services, Social Services, Strategic Initiatives (Homeless Services and Aging in Place), Planning and Development Services, Parking Services, City Clerk, and Rent Stabilization and Housing, among others, to engage with residents, businesses, and visitors about everything the City has to offer and how to stay informed and get answers to questions and concerns.

“City Hall Pop-ups bring a bite-sized, calorie free version of City Hall into the community to give everyone a chance to meet City staff, ask questions, get information, mingle with neighbors, and get a taste of City services,” said City of West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico. “I invite everyone to come and grab a light breakfast and meet your neighbors and City staff members, our Block by Block Security Ambassadors, and deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood station.”

Community members are invited and encouraged to attend the City Hall pop-up to learn more about local government in the City of West Hollywood. There will be City Department/Division tables set up in the park and staff members will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information, especially to constituents who may not be familiar with West Hollywood City Hall and the broad range of programs and services provided in the community. The City Clerk will also be providing voter registration and election information. Bring the entire family (including your furry companions) and enjoy a morning in the park.
