City Kicks-Off Virtual ‘WeHo LIVE!’ Free Online Friday Evening DJ Music Series

WeHoLIVEThe City of West Hollywood presents the WeHo LIVE! Virtual Friday Happy Hour 2020 music series, which will take place on Friday evenings at 6 p.m. online at www.weho.org/WeHoLIVE.

The virtual series will kick-off on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 6 p.m. with DJ Mateo Segade. Dance music professor and social introvert, Segade is resident DJ for influential artist collective The House of Avalon, spinning for SNAP! at Micky’s West Hollywood and Sugar Tank at Precinct DTLA. He will be playing a set of dance, house, and pop music. 

“Staying Safer at Home during the coronavirus crisis has meant social isolation for many of us and the City of West Hollywood is home to many incredibly talented DJs and musicians,” said City of West Hollywood Mayor Lindsey P. Horvath. “WeHo LIVE will bring the rhythm and melody of our vibrant community directly into our homes, and will connect us virtually on summer Friday evenings for an hour of musical entertainment each week to start the weekend!”

“Bring out your inner ‘Dancing Queen’ whether you were ‘Born This Way’ or simply want to ‘Run the World (Girls)’ — join us. ‘You Should Be Dancing’ to some ‘Downtown Train’ or ‘Uptown Funk’ spun by some of the best DJs in the business,” said City of West Hollywood Councilmember John D’Amico.  “Join the City for this virtual club experience right in your own home — don’t forget your ‘#Selfie.’”

The second DJ in the WeHo LIVE! series will DJ ASHA on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 6 p.m. ASHA is one the most versatile DJs on the scene, regularly spinning in London (her hometown), Australia, Croatia, Dubai, Greece, Ibiza (for P. Diddy), Italy, Russia, and most recently New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami, and Hollywood. She will be spinning a selection of Party Anthems, Hip Hop, R&B, and Top 40.

On Friday, July 3, 2020 at 6 p.m. DJ Noir D Costas will be spinning House Music. This DJ packs a groove with his signature synths and baselines and is ready to take the party to the next level.

DJ R-Tistic headlines the Friday, July 10, 2020 at 6 p.m. WeHo LIVE! music set. He is one of the entertainment industry's favorite DJs, and has played special events for Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Issa Rae, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lena Waithe, Common, and more. This international DJ is known for his high energy sets, and has gained notoriety for his mixes and videos, which have gained over 5 million views.

Friday, July 17, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature DJ KidCutUp. Fresh off of his opening slot on Pink’s 2018 Beautiful Trauma Tour, KidCutUp is a growing voice on the international DJ scene. Through his DJ edits, remixes, and original productions, his music has been played by influential DJs such as DJ Khaled, The Chainsmokers, Diplo, DJ Vice, Z-Trip, and others.

Friday, July 24, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature DJ Spiñorita. A unifying force in Los Angeles vinyl and underground music culture, Spiñorita is the host of Casual Play, the radio show she created a decade ago which is now part of the NTS Radio family, broadcasting internationally as well as an integral part of the Los Angeles music scene. She holds a residency at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles for her dance party called Homebass.

The Perry Twins spin on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 6 p.m. The Perry Twins are identical twins based in Los Angeles and have played at the White Parties in Bangkok and Palm Springs, Winter Party Miami, NYC Pride Pier Dance, Infinita Madrid, and clubs, parties and pride festivals around the world. Doug & Derek spin regularly at The Chapel and The Abbey in West Hollywood. The Perry Twins have reached #1 on Billboard with songs they write and produce, as well as remixes they've produced for Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa, Janet Jackson, Troye Sivan, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna.

Friday, August 7, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature Lady Sinclair & Ian Sloane. Lady Sinclair is a much sought-after party DJ and producer booked her for her skills of creating the perfect vibe on the dance floor.  Ian Sloane is a highly talented musician turned DJ who brings his mastery of music to his DJ performance. Together their DJ set becomes a show with handpicked, curated playlists and live instruments that create on-the-spot remixes, and pure energy.

Friday, August 14, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature d. painter. An LA based DJ by way of Washington DC, d.painter, has developed his brand working his way through clubs from Santa Monica to Downtown Los Angeles and weekly on the airwaves of KPFK 90.7 FM. He's provided the soundtrack for A-list celebrity parties for the Kardashian family and sports legend David Beckham. As a promoter, he's curated discrimination-free environments for anyone who wants to dance away their stress all night to Latin, disco, reggae, R&B, and house music.

Friday, August 21, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature DJ Casey Alva, the multi-award winning, Billboard-charting Dance producer for Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, Sam Smith, and KISS. Alva is the resident DJ at The Abbey in West Hollywood.

Friday, August 28, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature DJ JADABOO, the resident DJ for the R&B party 143 at the Echoplex. Her extensive music knowledge leaves no one out during her sets.

Friday, September 4, 2020 at 6 p.m. will feature DJ Ivan Mariscal. Ivan has been an active force in the LGBTQ community for more than 20 years, donating his DJ services to Pride festivals in Southern and Northern California. His current residencies include Micky’s, Rocco’s, and Revolver Video Bar in West Hollywood and Rich’s in San Diego.
