  • Step 1: Find Property in West Hollywood
    Use this tool to search property listings available for sale or lease through Loopnet, an online real estate search engine.
  • Step 2: Confirm Zoning and Permitting  
    Check with the Current and Historic Preservation Planning (CHPP) Division to make sure that the proposed location allows (is zoned for) your proposed business. Call the CHPP at (323) 848-6475 or come to the Planning and Development Services counter at City Hall.  Be sure to ask CHPP staff what planning permits are required for your specific business.
  • Step 3: Determine the Parking Requirements for Your Business
    Before signing a lease, find the parking requirements for your type of business and whether the location you are interested in can accommodate your business. Also, learn about preferential parking districts and how to obtain commercial parking permits.
  • Step 4: Register for a Business Tax Certificate
    All businesses within the City of West Hollywood must register for a business tax certificate.  Find out what tax category your business falls within and what forms you will need to submit.
  • Step 5: Determine if You Need a Business License
