Janet JimenezJanet Jimenez is the City of West Hollywood’s Director of Administrative Services, overseeing the efforts of two City divisions: the Human Resources Division and the City Clerk’s Division.

The City’s Human Resources Division manages the City’s human capital, this includes administering the City’s employee recruitment and selection processes with the goal of attracting the most highly qualified and talented workforce possible. Human Resources is also responsible for administering employee compensation and benefits, facilitating labor relations, offering training, and providing a safe, productive workplace.

The City Clerk’s Division coordinates the operations, functions, and legislative history of the West Hollywood City Council, City Commissioners/Advisory Board Members/Task Force Members, and all City Departments and Divisions. The City Clerk’s office serves as the liaison between the public and the City in the provision of municipal services and elections, including public records, ethics, claims, and domestic partnerships. Additionally, the Division oversees the City’s risk management and contracts process.

Janet has been with the City of West Hollywood since 2007. Prior to becoming the Director of Administrative Services, she served on the City’s Management Team as the Assistant to the City Manager from 2014 to 2022. Before working in the City Manager’s Department as a Management Specialist, Janet worked in the City’s Neighborhood & Business Safety Division (then Code Compliance Division) in Code Enforcement functions, and in the City’s Parking Services Division. During her tenure with the City, she has held leadership roles in each of the City’s bargaining units and has extensive experience and background working on organization-wide policies and procedures. 

Janet has a successful track record in executive-level municipal management. She is an active member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the League of California Cities. She has earned certificates of completion from the Leadership ICMA Program and the University of Virginia Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service Senior Executive Institute. Currently, she serves as a member of the California City Management Foundation Board of Trustees. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of San Diego.
