JenniferAlkire Jennifer Alkire serves as the Assistant Director of Community Development, where she supports the Director and oversees internal processes and operations across the department’s three divisions: Long Range Planning, Current and Historic Preservation Planning, and Building and Safety. She also leads implementation of the City’s Sunset Arts and Advertising Program.

Prior to her current role, Jennifer spent five years as the City’s Current and Historic Preservation Planning Manager, guiding the implementation of the City Council’s vision for development and the built environment.

Jennifer joined the City of West Hollywood in 2004 as an Associate Planner. Throughout her tenure, she has served as liaison to both the Historic Preservation Commission and the Planning Commission and has contributed to numerous major projects including residential, office, hotel, small business, and mixed-use development.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association and holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography with an emphasis in Regional and Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles.
