What is Mobility?

"Mobility" means the movement of people in a population from place to place. Mobility is high when all individuals can travel quickly and efficiently. Mobility planning aims to increase mobility as much as possible while preserving safety and welfare.

The Future of Mobility Planning in West Hollywood:

The City of West Hollywood is dense and heavily built-out, making the traditional approach of adding vehicle capacity (i.e. widening roadways) infeasible. To meet the mobility demands of its community and achieve the City's Climate Action Goals, West Hollywood is focused on improving alternative forms of transportation, especially for pedestrians, transit riders, and cyclists. At the same time, the City strives to continue protecting the mobility of disadvantaged groups, including seniors, the disabled, women, and children.

The City is currently conducting a comprehensive traffic study to inform the best transportation improvements to help us prepare for the future. To learn more, visit the Citywide Traffic and Mobility Study Page.
