Massage parlors and massage technicians are each required to have a regulatory license.  Massage parlors must have a valid West Hollywood regulatory business license prior to operating.  Massage technicians have the choice of obtaining the West Hollywood license, or obtaining the statewide license issued by the CA  Massage Therapy Council.

 A valid business license must be obtained prior to operating in West Hollywood.  Massage parlors must obtain the requisite approvals from Planning before a business license can be issued.

Massage technicians that opt to apply for a West Hollywood Massage Technician Business License must submit fingerprinting and a background check before a business license can be issued.
