Security Ambassadors

The City of West Hollywood provides 24/7, 365 days a year unarmed Security Ambassador program services, which has a direct positive impact on safety and neighborhood livability. The West Hollywood Security Ambassadors program includes security ambassadors, team leaders, safety officers, supervisors, and a general manager.

First established in the City of West Hollywood in 2013, the West Hollywood Security Ambassador program provides a highly visible uniformed presence at the street level and security services include uniformed bicycle, kiosk, foot patrol, fixed post, special event, and transit Security Ambassador program services in the City of West Hollywood. Security Ambassadors are deployed along major streets, alleys, City parking lots, and residential neighborhoods.

Security Ambassadors leverage the effectiveness of local law enforcement and work in collaboration with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. In addition to supplemental safety services, West Hollywood Security Ambassadors also get to know West Hollywood’s neighborhoods and assist in providing an extra level of hospitality to visitors and help to address quality of life concerns in the community. Security Ambassadors work seamlessly to:

  • Maintain uniformed foot and bicycle patrols throughout all City neighborhoods;

  • Provide in-person responses 24/7 to non-violent calls for service;

  • Conduct safety escorts for residents, businesses, and visitors; and

  • Offer helpful guidance to community members and visitors about City information, directions, parking, and more.

The Security Ambassadors program maintains a highly visible uniformed presence at the street level and maintains staffed kiosks focused on safety as well as hospitality in West Hollywood with specific emphasis on supporting a more robust and accessible presence where people shop, walk, and enjoy recreation. Security Ambassadors supplement West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station patrols and, in emergencies, work in partnership with law enforcement Deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.

Commercial district kiosks generally function daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the kiosk at West Hollywood Park is staffed daily 24 hours seven days a week; the Plummer Park kiosk is staffed daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and the kiosks at Hart Park, Kings Road Park, and Veterans Park operate various hours as-needed. The aim of the kiosks is to expand on the City’s supplemental field safety services, as well as to provide an extra level of hospitality to businesses, community members, and visitors.
