The Community and Legislative Affairs (CLA) Division provides support to the City Council, oversees and engages in advocacy efforts to advance the City’s legislative priorities, and coordinates small-and-mid-scale community events. The division also provides oversight of a City Commission and several City advisory boards, ensuring alignment with the City’s mission, values, and adopted purviews.
City Council Office Support
If you would like to schedule a meeting with a Councilmember or request their attendance at an event, please complete this form. This form requests further information on the purpose of the meeting or event, which supports our team’s efforts to better coordinate schedules and address requests.
Proclamation and Certificate/Commendation Request
To request a proclamation, certificate, or commendation in recognition of an individual, organization, or significant event, please complete this form. The approved Recognition Policy is found here. Requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the event, if time-sensitive.
Governmental Affairs
Key responsibilities include:
• Representation and Collaboration: Serving as the City’s representative to the Westside Cities Council of Governments, partner organizations, neighboring municipalities, and state agencies.
The City partners with community organizations to co-sponsor events that align with its values and goals. Learn more about the Event Co-Sponsorship policy and the application process. Requests must be received at least 120 days prior to the proposed event date.
