2026 City of West Hollywood Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

The City of West Hollywood Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service event to take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at West Hollywood Elementary School, located at 970 N. Hammond Street. 

In 1994, Congress designated the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day federal holiday as a National Day of Service. Each year, the City of West Hollywood participates in this call to action. This year the City will host a beautification day to benefit West Hollywood Elementary. 

Volunteers are needed to help perform various landscaping, clean-up and other beautifying tasks at the school. All tasks involve physical labor and volunteers are expected to be available to work a 3-hour shift. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age to take part and participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and lunch.

Space is limited and ADVANCE REGISTRATION is required to volunteer. Sorry. No walk-ins.

To register as a volunteer, please sign up on the City’s Volunteer Portal at https://volunteer.weho.org/.  All registered volunteers will receive confirmation and check-in details.

2. After your registration is confirmed, log in, go to the Calendar and add the MLK Day of Service on January 31, 2026 to your schedule to volunteer for this activity.
