The City of West Hollywood’s Facilities and Field Services Division maintains public trees which include those trees growing in the public right-of-way such as parkways, sidewalks and street medians as well as trees growing in the City’s parks.

In total, the City has 9,000 public trees. The City trims public trees (street trees) located in residential neighborhoods once every three years and street trees located on commercial streets are trimmed annually. In addition, those street trees requiring additional trimming are pruned under a Service Request system. All public trees are trimmed to International Society of Arboriculture Standards (ISA) by a private contractor.
