Disabled PlacardIn order to improve parking accessibility and reduce the incidence of fraudulent use of disabled placards, the City of West Hollywood actively enforces State regulations that require individuals to carry the DMV identification card issued with their disabled placard.

Drivers may be approached to verify the identification card information to help parking enforcement officers deter the problem of disabled placard abuse.

If an individual fails to provide the required identification card, the disabled placard will be confiscated by parking enforcement and will result in a $500 parking fine for misuse.

Motorists who receive a parking citation for misuse and have their placard confiscated may retrieve the placard and have the penalty reduced to a $25 administrative fee by presenting the correct DMV identification to the City’s parking enforcement office within 21 days.

If the citation is not contested, the registered owner of the vehicle is liable for the original fine, and the placard will be reported as fraudulent and removed from circulation.

Should you need to have your DMV issued DP identification card reissued to be in compliance with State law, please fill out the following form and return it to the address listed below.
