New residents may apply in person at City Hall or by mail and provide 1) Proof of Residence*, 2) Valid Picture ID and 3) Current California Vehicle Registration. Vehicle registration must be under the resident's name. Separate registration is required for each vehicle. Title, insurance ID or other documentation is not acceptable. Thereafter, permit renewals must occur online and permits are sent by mail. Renewed permits are not available for pick-up at the Permit Counter.

Preferential Parking District Formation
Persons interested in having permit parking in their area are required to submit a petition representing a majority of the dwelling units for the area being proposed. A petition packet containing information necessary to proceed with implementation may be obtained from the Department of Facilities and Recreation Service's Parking Services and Projects Officer at email@example.com.
Resident Parking Permit
Resident Parking Permits are sold in the form of a decal are only valid for a maximum of 1 year. Decals are valid only for the vehicle to which it is registered. See the table below for your Residential Parking Program District's details.

Applicant vehicle must be registered in California and must be the resident's primary vehicle. Commercial use or use by a non-resident is prohibited. Resident permits are by decal and issued to a specific vehicle's License Plate or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). A maximum of 4 decals may be purchased per address each permit cycle. Permits may not be transferred without re-registering through the Permit Counter. To avoid being charged a replacement fee, the permit being replaced must be returned to the Permit Counter at time of the transaction.
Resident Permit purchases are non-refundable. New or renewal fees increase by the number of permits requested. Permits being replaced due to a change in vehicle registration are available at no cost with the return of the previous permit to the Permit Counter, or 51% or more of the decal's remains.

Lost/Stolen Permit Renewal Policy
Lost or stolen decals renewed by mail are replaceable at no charge at the Permit Counter if reported within 21 days of the purchase date, accompanied by completed USPS Receipt of Claim printout, and is the first request in the current renewal period for the address/account. USPS Claims can be submitted online at https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm. Thereafter, lost or stolen decals will be replaced at the full price of the subsequent pricing tier.
Guest permits are only available to current West Hollywood residents and are limited 2 per address. Guest permits are issued in the form of a placard and are interchangeable between vehicles. Guest permits are only for use by the resident or a guest of the resident in the act of visiting. Guest permits must be used in the vicinity of the registered address. Reselling or sharing guest permits for any use other than temporary visitation is strictly prohibited. Misuse may result in citation, towing or revocation of permit privileges.
Permit purchases are non-refundable. Guest Parking Placards purchased on or after the resident's District prorate date are $16.

Lost/Stolen Permit Renewal Policy

Visitors of West Hollywood residents parking in preferential parking districts must display a temporary Visitor Parking Permit. Visitor permits are free of charge and may be requested up to 5 days in advance. A maximum of 25 permits may be issued for a single day and no more than 100 permits may be issued to a residential address in the same month.Visitor permits may not be issued in excess of 15 calendar days each month per address. Permits may be obtained at City Hall, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours. For after hours, weekends and holidays, visitor permits may be obtained at Kings Road Parking Garage or the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station*.

C Parking Permits
Commercial-type "C" parking permits are no longer sold to new applicants. Existing type C permit holders may retrieve new rate information by emailing the Permit Counter. New businesses must abide by the City's Business Parking Requirements. Questions about business requirements should be directed at Jackie Rocco, Business Development Manager, or by emailing CreativeCity@weho.org. It is strongly encouraged that new businesses verify parking requirements before entering into a lease.
M and E Parking Permits
Type "M" permits are only valid in designated spaces on the west side of San Vincente Blvd between Melrose Ave and Beverly Blvd.
"E" Permits allow employees to park in designated metered spaces in the evening hours between 6pm and 3am. E-Permits are limited to non-residents employed by a valid business within the boundaries of La Cienega Blvd to Doheny Dr and Santa Monica Blvd and Beverly Blvd. Applicants must apply in person and provide a current pay stub as evidence of employment.
*Permits are only sold in quarters. **Permits are not prorated by week. ***E-Permits are available for 1 month at a rate of $30. Program availability is dependent on available resources. Parking availability is not guaranteed. Lack of parking is not justification for violation of local or state regulations.
Moving to or from a residential property within West Hollywood requires a special permit for a fee of $10. The permit will allow the vehicle/s being used to temporarily park within a residential zone in a reserved area without receiving a parking citation. Reserved parking is only available for a single day and will not be extended without written notification in advance of 24 hours of the moving date. Moving permits do not exempt vehicles from state or local laws, such as red curb or street cleaning, but do permit vehicles parked within an encroachment zone to exceed the posted time limit.
Moving Permit Details
- Permit fee is $10 regardless of being purchased in advance of 96 hours or after
- Permits will only be issued for 1 day between the hours of 8am to 5pm
- Permits must be requested at least 96 hours in advance for parking enforcement support and signage posting; requests less than 96 hours may still be fulfilled with the exception of parking enforcement support the day of the move; same day requests are not enforceable and the resident must post their own signs
- Permits shall not be issued to place storage containers or pods in the public right-of-way
- Moving van parking is subject to approval to ensure there are no conflicts with traffic or construction work being done at neighboring properties and/or sidewalks and streets.
- Applicants are required to apply in-person during normal business hours
