How to Submit

  1. Complete the appropriate permit application. Incomplete applications will result in project delays.

  2. Contact Planning@weho.org or call (323) 848-6475 to make an appointment with a planner. Be sure to include both email and phone number so that a planner can reach you.

  3. During your appointment time, City Staff will contact you to coordinate upload of all materials and provide a link.

  4. A planner will review uploaded materials and log your project in. If there are questions or missing items from your application, you will work with the planner to provide all necessary information.

  5. When your application is accepted, an invoice will be generated and emailed to you in PDF format along with electronic funds transfer (EFT) processing instructions. Please indicate the invoice number on the EFT receipt.

  6. Once the payment has been made, please email a copy of your financial institution’s receipt with the invoice and permit number to Financerevenue@weho.org and copy the project intake planner and Planning@weho.org

  7. Once payment has been received, a confirmation email will be sent and the project will be assigned to a case planner.

Due to the circumstances and remote City Hall operations, typical over-the-counter permits such as Minor Zone Clearances and Sign Permits will be taken in as described above. Thank you for your patience as we shift our procedures to this new platform.

Information regarding City of West Hollywood Business Assistance programs can be found at www.weho.org/business.

PLEASE NOTE: For the duration of the Los Angeles County Safer at Home for Control of COVID-19 Order, the Building and Safety Division will only be issuing permits associated with projects that are defined as “essential” under the Order. Please contact Building@weho.org for further details.
