The City of West Hollywood does not have any street excavation moratoriums in place at this time.  On a case by case basis, the City Council has enacted such moratoriums in the past.  This has been when an arterial roadway such as Santa Monica Blvd or Sunset Blvd underwent major rehabilitation work.

Instead of enacting frequent street excavation moratoriums, the City requires trench restoration to be done in compliance with the City Standard Trench Cut Details.  Trench restoration done in compliance with these details preserves the overall condition of the roadway pavement.  There are 6 different roadway pavement scenarios addressed in the City Standard Trench Cut Details.
