Painting Addresses on Curbs

West Hollywood periodically paints reflective addresses on curbs. This work is done by City forces as part of our street maintenance program, and there is no fee charged to the property owners and residents. The City does not issue permits to outside groups to go door to door peddling the painting of curb addresses for a fee. This is due to the problems which arise when the house number is installed incorrectly as well as when residents feel intimidated and worry about being charged for a City maintenance service. City inspectors and the Sheriff's Department are aware of flyers distributed to residents offering to paint reflective house numbers on their curb for a fee. These companies are illegally conducting business within the City. We have an ongoing program to remind to our residents that they are under no obligation to pay for this service and should not be getting involved with this illegal services.
