To the maximum extent possible, all demolition debris and construction waste must be recycled.

Mixed construction and demolition waste and debris is to be hauled away only by a hauler permitted to operate in the City of West Hollywood. Using one of these companies allows the City of West Hollywood to meet the required recycling goals set by the State of California.

Source separated commodity loads (ie. wood, metal, inerts: soil, asphalt, concrete) are not required to be hauled by a permitted hauler. 

All construction projects (ie. Remodels, Tenant Improvements, Demolition, New Construction) are required to complete a Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan(C&D Plan). All construction projects must submit documentation of construction and demolition hauling records for the entire duration of the project in PDF form in one file.  The approved C&D Plan submitted for the project should have been adhered to.  C&D Plan Forms can be found here:

Please note: To receive issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy, the applicant shall submit to Environmental Services recycling manifests from all disposal sites, recycling sites and landfills that accepted demolition, excavation and/or general construction waste and recycled materials from this site. Only approved haulers are allowed to haul mixed construction and demolition waste.

Projects which fail to comply are subject to citation by Code Enforcement.

Placement of a construction waste bin on the public right of way requires an encroachment permit to be approved prior to the placement of the bin. Only City of West Hollywood approved haulers and recyclers will be allowed to place dumpsters for construction.
