Apply, renew, or manage your resident, guest, and visitor permits online.
Annual Resident Permits
Annual permits for residents (max 4 per address). Each permit is assigned to a license plate and is non-transferable without re-registering.
- What you’ll need: Proof of residence, valid photo ID, and current CA vehicle registration.
- EV discount: DMV registration must show Motive Power: E.
Annual Renewals
Renew online or by mail. Online is fastest and avoids delays. If your permit hasn’t arrived by its effective date, contact Permit Services for a temporary permit.
Annual Guest Permits
Physical permits intended for your guests. Fee applies. Interchangeable between vehicles near your address. Misuse may result in citation or revocation.
- Limit: 2 per address.
- Transferable between vehicles.
- May not be used by employees at local businesses.

Visitor Permits (Point Based)
Digital/virtual permits for short-term visitor parking. No fee, but usage draws from a monthly points balance that resets each month.
- Redeem: Online (recommended), Kings Road Garage (8am–12am), or City Hall Counter (8am–5pm M-F).
- Rules: 100 points per month, maximum 25 points per day. 15 days each month.
Commercial Permits
Access for eligible local businesses and employees. Includes E-Permit (Evening), M-Permit (Daytime), and legacy programs (C).
- Programs: Evening metered zones or San Vicente Blvd daytime parking.
- Eligibility: Based on physical business location.
Oversized Vehicle Parking
Parking is limited for vehicles larger than 3/4 tons, longer than 20', with a trailer, or taller than 8'.
Business/Tour Bus: Request a temporary 1-3 night encroachment permit for predesignated meters. For all other oversized parking needs, contact PermitParking@weho.org.
New Residents & Eligibility
- Residency documentation must match the service address in a preferential parking district.
- Primary vehicle must be registered in California in the resident’s name.
- Commercial use or ownership of permits by non-residents is prohibited.

Replacement Policy
Permits never received by mail are eligible to be replaced at no charge at the Permit Counter if reported within 21 calendar days of the purchase date, accompanied by a completed USPS Receipt of Claim printout, and is the first request in the current renewal period for the address/account.
USPS Claims can be submitted online at https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm . Thereafter, lost or stolen decals will be replaced at the full price of the subsequent pricing tier.
Permits may be replaced up to three (3) times each permit cycle. Stolen permits may be replaced at no charge when accompanied by a valid police report once each permit cycle. If the permit is stolen again, it is replaceable for 50% of the original purchase price when accompanied by a valid police report. If the permit is stolen a third time, the permit may be replaced at the full cost of the original sale price with a valid police report. A permit will not be replaced without a police report.
Lost permits are eligible to be replaced up to one time each permit cycle at the full cost of the original purchase price.

Residential permits are permit-by-plate OR by display. Active registration is required; maximum 4 per address.

Overnight Resident Parking Permit
West Hollywood residents in need of overnight parking may purchase an Overnight Resident Parking Permit at $9 per quarter, which allows overnight parking of the permitted vehicle in specific City parking facilities. Facilities are not accessible during closing hours and permit sales are subject to availability.
Current City facilities offering overnight parking via the program are: Kings Road Garage, Spaulding Lot and the La Jolla Lot.
