The City of West Hollywood's Bus Pass Subsidy Program helps eligible older adults and residents with disabilities access public transportation. The program provides $20 in Metro Stored Value each month at no cost to eligible participants.
Under Metro's fare capping policy, this monthly benefit is generally sufficient to provide unlimited Metro bus and rail rides for participants. The City monitors eligible participants' TAP card balances and automatically reloads funds when needed, making it easier to continue using public transit without interruption.
Eligibility
To qualify for the Bus Pass Subsidy Program applicants must:
- Be a West Hollywood Resident.
- Be 62 years of age or older, or a resident with a disability.
- Have an active Metro Senior/Disabled Orange TAP Card.
Applicants who do not already have a Senior/Disabled TAP Card must first apply through Metro before enrolling in the City's Bus Pass Subsidy Program. Information about obtaining a TAP card is available on Metro's website.

Automatic TAP Card Reloads
As part of the enrollment process, applicants must complete the Bus Pass Subsidy Program Waiver. Once enrolled, $20 in Stored Value will automatically be added to the participant's TAP card once a month if the balance falls below $10, ensuring continued access to transit benefits without the need to request monthly reloads.
In-Person Assistance
Staff are available to assist program participants in person during the following hours:
- Tuesday
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Thursday
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
