Hello, and welcome to West Hollywood! If you recently moved into an apartment covered by the West Hollywood Rent Stabilization Program, you have certain tenant rights and protections. This also means that your property owner may share half the program administration costs with you. The amount allowed to be shared is $6.00
a month per apartment, for a total of $72.00 a year. Information about the registration fee and other helpful information is available online at weho.org/rent.
Please take a moment to explore the Rent Stabilization Division website and the Frequently Asked Questions below. Additionally, below are some links to basic information about West Hollywood’s Rent Stabilization's program:

Please also note that certain residential units are exempt from most provisions of the Ordinance. Units that are exempt from the Maximum Allowable Rent but not from the Eviction Code include new construction with a certificate of occupancy issued after July 1, 1979; condominiums and properties with only one unit on the entire parcel whose tenants moved in on or after January 1, 1996; government-owned or subsidized housing (ex. Section 8). Units exempt from the entire Ordinance include: institutional facilities; non-profit housing; and some units in hotels or motels.
