Zetz Klezmer Ensemble
World Music / Klezmer / Fusion
February 9, 2019
City Council Chambers at the West Hollywood Library
625 N. San Vicente Blvd., West Hollywood
Zetz Klezmer is a delightful ensemble whose show weaves together music, stories, history, educational demos, and jokes. Their original and traditional music is rooted in klezmer traditions of European Jews, but also fuses sounds from across the globe. These creative musicians draw upon a range of music including the haunting melodies of the synagogue, entertaining Yiddish vaudeville songs, boisterous Russian and Ukrainian dances and even a klezmerized Irish jig. This year we have new tunes for our audiences including Yiddish 101, a beautiful Palestinian song, and a witty arrangement of the traditional song, Odessa Bulgar.
