Little Free Libraries are small community volunteer-run book exchange boxes which help foster a sense of community and a love of literacy among those who use and maintain them. Little Free Library believes that all people are empowered when the opportunity to discover a personally relevant book to read is not limited by time or space. Community members are encouraged to take a free book or leave a book.

About the program:

The City of West Hollywood installed its first official Little Free Library on January 23, 2016 as a part of the MLK, Jr. Day of Service at West Hollywood Elementary School located at 970 Hammond Street. Feel free to drop by and leave a book or take a book!  From 2015-2025, The City of West Hollywood's Arts Division ran a micro-grant to fund Little Free Libraries; the first municipal grant specifically for Little Free Libraries.
