Visual and performance artists, writers, architects, designers, urban planners and social activists are invited to attend a one-day public intervention workshop. The workshop is a space for artists to design potential interventions. Interventions may take the form of tours, tactical and site performance, temporal installations, video or sound projections, digital platforms, community involved projects, peer-to-peer platforms, print or online publication, or a street event. Ed welcomes artists with no prior public art experience, who are interested in moving from the traditional studio, gallery and theatre space into the urban arena.

Ed Woodham has been active in community art, education, and civic interventions across media and culture for over thirty-five years. A visual and performance artist, curator and educator, Woodham employs humor, irony, subtle detournment, and a striking visual style in order to encourage greater consideration of - and provoke deeper critical engagement with - the urban environment. Woodham created Art in Odd Places (AiOP) to present visual and performance art to reclaim public spaces in New York City and beyond. Art in Odd Places has been produced in Boston, MA, Indianapolis, IN, Greensboro, NC, and Orlando, FL in the U.S.; St. Petersburg, Russia and Sydney, Australia. AiOP was selected as a representative in the U.S. Pavillion, Spontaneous Interventions: Design Actions for the Common Good at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012. Woodham was also a featured speaker for TEDxGowanus and TEDxIndianapolis. Ed was the UVA Studio Arts Board artist-in residence at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville in 2018.
