A Survey Exhibition of the Tom of Finland Foundation Artist-in-Residence Program

ToFF FXLK PLAY 2026

Plummer Park, Long Hall, 1200 N. Vista Street

February 19–March 19, 2026

Free, open Noon–5pm, Thursdays through Sundays

The title, "FXLK PLAY" is a stylized nod to "folk play." The exhibition positions Tom of Finland as a modern folk hero, with artists-in-residence continuously reinterpreting his work and legacy. The first survey of artmaking made over a ten-year period by more than forty LGBTQIA artists who have participated in the Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) Artist in Residence Program (AiR). Featuring both loans from the artists and works from the Foundation’s collections, the exhibition presents a representative artwork from each artist who has participated in the AiR program and will encompass drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and other mediums. The exhibit is curated by LA based independent curator Jamison Edgar.

Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving, documenting, and educating the public about erotic art and artists. The original mission of the Foundation since its inception in 1984 has been to preserve TOM’s vast catalog of work. That mission was expanded and the Foundation now offers a safe haven for all erotic art.
